Turbotax gets the job done!

As usual, Turbotax handled my somewhat complex return smoothly and effectively. Downloading key investment income and capital gains data from my bank is a huge time-saver and avoids the errors often resulting from manual entry.

It is deceptive saying you do state tax included in cost.. You don't email file it free.

Good - but state mail-in could be clearer.

I e-filed my federal return, but want to mail-in the state (CA) return to avoid the $25 fee. However, when I printed out the return for mail-in, it states "Do not mail a paper copy of your tax return. Since you filed electronically, the Franchise Tax Board already has your return." Does this mean that the (CA) Franchise Tax Board gets a copy of my return even though I only e-file the federal return? This is different from past years, and I am inclined to send a copy of my state and fed return to the state - just to be sure.

I have used Turbo Tax for a number of years, ever since a professional tax preparer failed to electronical file my return with the IRS, which, even though I paid my due taxes on time, resulted in penalties and interest for the period the IRS did not receive my return. Bottom line, I had to go to court to have the so called tax professional settle the debt. TT has been great for me, an excellent product.

No issues in using the software.
Save functionality has issues and had me re-do a few sections over and over.
The Annualized income part was tricky to get into and trouble to get out of.
Good solid product to work with.
