Additional fees deceiving

Be careful if you pay to have TT do your state tax return. There is an additional $25 they dont tell you about when you purchase the state return. That is only for the return and not to file.

Doesn't allow deletion of some error items.

So if I put in wrong information and then remove it, it still has the stupid form there and doesn't allow me to delete it. Also, it doesn't remember that I am filing a mock form at the end.

Continues to make mistakes!

Several issues. Downloaded state income tax deducted with decimal place off by 2 places - so, I was going to get a few 100k refund and TT did not flag it, sait 100% accurate, low audit probability. Also the process of entering IRS PIN is buried. last year IRS rejected our TT filed return as this was missing, never prompted, never entered. Did not prompt when W-2 did not pull a certain state income. Always review downloaded W-2 manually

Been using TT for years. So unimpressed with the numerous bugs throughout and lack of investment that Inuit puts into improving this product

Mostly great, with just one hitch

Overall the Business edition is a wonderful self-calculating powerhouse that greatly streamlined my numerous forms.
However one very notable shortcoming was the inability to separate mine and my wife's shared Qualified Joint Venture Schedule C incomes into two different branches from the same collective business expense. To work around this, I split most of the Schedule C revenue/expenses accordingly but had to skip the depreciation and home office expense portion to make it manageable. I believe more and more people will find themselves in this particular circumstance, so the QJV auto-split would be deeply appreciated on future versions.

Turbotax failed the test
on May 10, 2021
Posted by: Jeep1990
I have been using Turbotax since the beginning, and this year they failed big time. It took multiple tries to import last years data. Ir is really important to be able to compare one year to the next and it would not work finally after 6 tries it moved the info over. Trying to do a small business like Uber it is a total wait of money. Have someone do it for you, TT was no help in filling out forms and depreciation.

Disappointed with $25 for filing Georgia tax
on May 10, 2021

I have used Turbo Tax for many years. 2020 was the first year that we have lived in Georgia and therefore the first year to file Georgia tax. I was very disappointed to see that other tax software programs allowed people to e-file Georgia tax free, but using Turbo Tax I had to pay $25!!!! Next year I might have to consider one of those other software tax programs.
