Using TurboTax

I have been using TurboTax since 2014. I find it to be convenient and easy-to-use. It's cheaper than using a tax professional and (I believe), it's just as accurate. Also, it's complete; it covers my federal, state, and local tax situations.

I appreciate the complexity of having to keep up with all the changes in the tax laws and regulations. But I would suggest that the program needs improvement in the areas of Section 1256 and crypto transactions.

TurboTax Just TOO Expensive

I purchased the Download version of Turbo Tax for $117.98. Since I had 2 states, I had to purchase one state which was $48.26. Then, Turbo Tax charged me $50 for transmitting both returns. I could have done my taxes with a competitor for $37. After using TurboTax for more than 10 years, this is definitely my last purchase with them.

Disturbingly Wrong

This is the worst year (2020) of TurboTax. There are more errors and the updates and customer support is unable to file a return correctly nor able to give accurate answers to questions. Get your act together or I will switch to other software after 30 years of TurboTax.

Normally, I have to search several places, including online to get my answer, but this year, the examples "?" provided more spot on information, saving me tons of time.
