turbo tax sucks your money

It was a bit flustering that around every corner they kept asking me for more money. I had to pay $44+ for an additional state, another $$ for business, then $25 for each state. I could have saved money in the long run going to a tax prepare and would have had less stress in making sure that I entered everything correctly....Never again turbo tax

this year was difficult because we had 2 vehicles totaled out, turbo tax coached us thru it.

nowhere near as good this year

I've used Turbotax for personal and business taxes for ~ 20 years. Each year, the Q & A format gets weaker, and one part of the software seems to know less about what I input earlier. This year there were at least two times I had to check online to learn that Turbotax had a bug and wasn't fixing it. And in doing VA state taxes, Turbotax really sucked, not explaining things, asking for things that were on the federal forms, and generally reducing my confidence that my taxes were being done correctly. So I am really considering using some other software next year.
Plus ... you forced my to mess up one of my laptops to install Windows 10. Turbotax became the ONLY software that insisted I change systems. Boo!

Quality slipping from high standards of the past

I was disappointed with the lack of integration of basic data, both within the Federal return and between the Federal and State returns. Turbo Tax went to great lengths this year to ask questions on arcane issues. However, as an example, even though the software had the date of birth, it could not determine an IRA withdrawal had taken place when the filer was older than 59 1/2. Furthermore, the step-by-step questionnaire had no queries re whether the stimulus checks had been received.
