Turbo Tax is very hard to understand!

The federal filing feature is very hard to understand. It is very hard to figure out how to bypass the state electronic filing. I did not want to pay to file the state just the federal.

Turbo Tax 2020 is excellent

I have been using Turbo Tax on and off for the last 15 years. I am self employed, just me, and when I used a tax consultant to do my taxes it would always cost $1,200 or more. Ridiculous. If you don't mind spending a few hours at the computer, Turbo Tax is great.

Glitchy this year...

I love the convenience of using Turbotax and have used it for years, but I found the Home and Business software to be a little glitchy this year. For starters, it did not transfer info from my 2019 returns. Also, the state software (MA in my case) just doesn't give enough explanation of some items, which worries me in terms of whether I'm filing accurately. For example, it says things like, "If you need to make adjustment because of differences between state and federal rules, do it here." How would I know if I need to make adjustments? I don't know the rules. That's what I count on Turbotax for. I might go with an accountant next year...

TurboTax is a timesaver!

I have used this product for years and would normally give it 5 stars. This is the first year I really needed to dive deep in the Business part of Home & Business and it didn't function as smoothly. I always ask it to walk me through the process and that usually creates a step by step process in which I don't miss anything. The business section was jumpy. I had to hunt down the sections that I needed to fill out and kept worrying that I missed something.
