How could you not fill in the state ID number?

We used Turbo Tax Home and Business to file a single 1099 NEC. The interview process was fairly simple. However, when checking for errors, we were required to enter a state ID number corresponding to the state that we entered for the payee. It took forever to find state ID numbers and we had to switch to form view to fill it in. 80-90% of our time getting around this one error that Turbo Tax should have known how to fill in for us. Remarkably unimpressed.

I like that i can access my records for prior years easily. I like being able to choose what to work on rather than answering all the prompts.
