Turbo Tax is good

Frustrated that 1099 MISC is now for Rental Income and I needed 1099 NEC (New).
For a Charitable Contribution I had a cost of $3,000 for a total of many items. They wanted to know purchase date and allowed Various as an option.... but at end when reviewing forms it did not allow Various and had to have a date even though the directions said you could :(

TurboTax is very good, but...

I use in on Mac OS 11.2.3 and it has its hiccups.
1. It crashed once; fortunately I was at the very beginning and there was not much work to do it again. I made it a point to execute Save command frequently.
2. Clicking on the image of the created file would not open the program; you have to start the program and open the file.
3. The interview form is very helpful except when the help would be really needed, like the meanders of K-1 form 1065. Expansion of both the interview and the help file would be wonderful.
4. I had to hunt for the form 1099-Q, the progression of the interview did not bring it up. Fortunately I knew that I had to fill it. It was easy to find.
5. The interview did not offer application of refund (state) to the next year payments. I had to transfer to forms and find the appropriate line myself.
Those problems, except perhaps help with K-1, are minor and they pale in comparison to the insight that one gains into one's finances while preparing taxes with TurboTax. For that reason the program is excellent.
