No longer useful for me.

I work day trading now. TurboTax is unable to handle the number of transactions and special situations involved. I've used it for decades but will not be able to for next years tax return.

I've successfully used Turbo Tax and other Intuit products for years. They're generally user friendly for the layperson (not an accountant). Expensive if you need help from a professional, but otherwise a great company.

Turbo Tax is really good - but

Over all this is still great software.
The new 2020 TurboTax is not following Federal and State guidelines when e-filing. Importing 1099-B transactions is not populating Form 8949 correctly (like last year) and is forcing customers to mail in a paper backup copies of the 1099-B received from the investment firm. What is the sense of e-filing if you can't do all this online like last year?
Pros: My employment status changed this year

Full of Bugs

I've used TurboTax for over 10 years, and I've never encountered so many glitches.
I used the step-through method, and it left me with many errors upon review that I had to look up the IRS requirements and then go back to the forms to manually correct.
Finally, when it came time to print my return, the app stalled and had to be ForceQuit (Mac system)— this happened 3 times before I finally succeeded in printing my return.
Generally, sloppy programming compared to the high quality of past years.

Difficulty in transmitting return.

Information was carried over from previous year that prevented transmittal of Federal tax return. Had to call 3 times over 2 days talking to 4 persons to get someone who could help. The second person hung up. The fourth one was a CPA who was able to identify the problem and eliminate a form that had prevented the transmittal. I also wish I would get confirmation of payment.
