Just paid my big tax bill..

using TT. Sadly, due to the recent tax law changes, the deductions are capped, and we can no longer hope for refunds as before. My gripe was that there was no explanation or calculation showing how the numbers are capped at different points of entering data. The calculations were straight-forward and understandable before the tax law changes. This year, I end up seeing a lot of seemingly 'magic' numbers that don't make much sense. As a result, my confidence in the result and product is not as high as before.

TurboTax is mainly unhelpful

Too many fees, and not helpful enough. Probably won't bother with TurboTax again
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

Turbo Tax

I think Turbo Tax is a Great Tax Software to use. Very easy to use in my opinion. Over the years it just got simpler and much easier to use and to maneuver. The hyper links, I found to be extremely useful. The hyper links give explanation and clarity. Every time, if I had to call a Representative from Turbo Tax, I got excellent service, SUPER.

Works fins until you try to e-file the state

Works fins until you try to e-file the state return, then it scress up and forces me to spent 2hrs wasting my time with customer service. I'm switching to a different tax prep softwre next year!

I have used TurboTax ever since the program was on 3 1/2" floppies. There are just way too many IRS rules and regulations to do it myself.
