Love TurboTax

OK product with some annoying features

I've been using TT since the 90s and will most likely continue to use it in the future. Having said that, there are some features of the product that I find very annoying. Like,
- not all information is transferred from the federal to state return. Also, you should tell people that if they're filing more than one state, they should start with their non-resident state first, otherwise they may run into problems. I had that happen to me with your product a few years ago, but I've never seen a warning or a suggestion in the program to not start with your own state first.
- saving the file, shutting down and returning to TT doesn't return you to the same spot in the program. You have to go through the same screens/questions again.
-way too many intermediate steps (screens) that don't ask for any inputs, but just explain something. Just get down to business with less fluff.
- There were many other small, but annoying things along the way, but I can't remember now what they were.
I want to emphasize, there is nothing wrong with the product, and all the things I pointed out above are minor, but it just seems like I go through them every year.

Turbo tax is not good at all this year.

I have used Turbo tax for many years and this year the program is horrible and unreliable. Taxing retirement income on state return and then having to figure out how to get it removed from taxable income. Horrible user experience.

Turbo tax has been used in my family for years

My experience with Turbo tax have be great. It was a little different this year in the beginning, but with the help of a Turbo Tax agent, it all good now!

Functional but can be confusing

Most of the program is user friendly. It gets more difficult when you have to dig into self employed business expenses, brokerage account capital gains sales and foreign taxes paid. The more info/help bubbles that pop up are sometimes helpful and sometimes not, making you wonder if you are doing your taxes/entering things correctly.
