2020 turbo tax

Good program that needs a detailed edit/review by Turbo Tax. For example, on some screen we must click "yes" or "no" at the prompt, but there was no actual questions, just a a statement. Also the mortgage interest section is poorly written where a mortgage has been refinanced.

BOY, I do not want your job. I cannot believe the complexity of our insane tax system. I am old, almost 88 years. I had been doing my taxes by hand since the 1950's. I have now been using Turbo Tax for decades. No normal human being could do it correctly by hand today. Not even the accountants. (By the way, my degrees are in mathematics.)

Makes taxes not so dreadful

Ease of use on mobile app is great, downloading the software to file for previous year was a bit of a crapshoot though to be honest. Just do them on time.

Everything was good going through the preparation process, then came the filing. The last few questions seemed benign HOWEVER the question to insert a PIN is deadly. The instructions state to enter any numbers BUT it fails to state that if you filed electronically last year and provided a PIN then you MUST use the same PIN again or else your returns will bounce like a rubber ball. The follow up instructions after the return is rejected allude to a possible error in the AGI number or PIN and then brings you to the AGI number to verify, after you do it fails to bring you to the PIN screen and instead files the return again.

Turbotax doesn't fix bugs

Even with turbotax is told about bugs, if they don't affect enough people, they don't bother to fix them. I would never recommend this product to anyone. The only thing preventing me from switching is how much time it would take to retype all of the information.
