I have used Turbotax for more than 2 decades and it makes many aspects of your taxes very simple. Over the years the complexity of my taxes have grown with rental properties and partial ownership of an S Corp in addition to my W-2 wages and now this year for the first time, my wife and I are residing in 2 different states for job related reasons. Turbotax handles everything I have thrown at it over the years, with the exception of being able to file a MFJ joint federal return as well as MFS separate returns for each of us in our respective states. Instead I have to create 3 returns - a MFJ for the federal and then two individual MFS so each of us can file separately in our state of residency.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I moved, I bought or sold investments

My husband and I have been using Turbo Tax for a few years now. I am the one filing it and it's easy and simple to use. Just have all your documents ready and you're ready to go. I love all the "Learn More" explanations. They helped me a lot.

Turbo tax is certainly comprehensive and takes you through all the steps in filing your taxes, both on federal and state level. It is not easy though, to navigate back to a particular place in the process. I started entering my business expenses and entered my rent cost, then I wanted to jump right back to entering other expenses, and I had difficulty navigating back to that section. Very frustrating. I would encourage you to address this issue

Due to complexity of our returns, having TurboTax apply the data into the appropriate forms is great without the headache of searching for forms, instructions, etc.. The downloading ability for investment data is fantastic as well.

TurboTax is very easy to use, and is very thorough. Covered all the bases. I needed telephone support to download late breaking updates, and the lady that provided that support was very helpful.
