Please display returns before e-filing

I dislike that the program jumps right to e-filing before displaying what the returns look like. There should be a review step included that displays the returns automatically and coaches the taxpayer to review them before e-filing.

Good Software for Taxes

I like using the software since it's a step by step guide to getting all the information in the right places. There are some aspects where I think the logic is confusing. I like to print the return to review it before getting to the section that ask you to E-file the return. However, when printing at this stage, the bank information for direct deposit or payment from last year is missing and the return assumes everything its mailed. After entering all of that information in "forms", I noticed that all of this information is asked for latter in the process. I think that's backwards. When the step is to E-file, all the information should be on the return so it's ready to print and file. I have been using Turbo Tax for ten years and this confuses me every year.

TurboTax really helps shorten the misery.

I wish there was a little more explanation sometimes. Often I didn't understand why TurboTax was doing what it was doing. It's kind of hard to give an example, but maybe a little more explanation sometimes would be helpful. On the 19099-R form entry section, you talk about an RMD but you don't help us calculate it. I realize that can be looked up online, but if TurboTax did it, it would be helpful.

Turbo Tax for small business owner

I have used TurboTax for at least 20 years. I am a part owner of a small S corporation where I am self employed. This year I tried the Business vrsion even though my K-1 info could be entered into the Premier version. For my situation, the Business version did not seem to provide any benefits and instead I had to re-enter some info that I had previously entered into the earlier version. Box 17 on the K1 was a bit confusing in TurboTax, but I found some Google help, and then kept moving forward and I think it worked out OK. TT could have provided better instructions at the beginning of the Box17 area. I like TT but sometimes it could provide better instructions.

Turbo Tax needs to convert pdf tax files to .tax

The actual return was okay but what followed really stinks. I spend hours unsuccessfully trying to export a 2019 return from Home and Business Turbo Tax Download to 2020 Turbotax online. Failing that, I tried to convert it from a PDF (the only option for download) to a TXF and then to a .TAX. The four Turbotax "experts" I spoke with were clueless and two of them were either cut off or hung up in the middle of the conversation. Even when they got on my screen they couldn't figure it out.

Turbo Tax is now my standard for personal and small business. I have multiple forms that require maddening calculations. Time to prepare has been streamlined.
