After 12 yrs TurboTax continues to be my #1 choice

TurboTax Home and Business continues to be my choice of tax preparation software. The option of using step by step or on my own to enter data allows me to start entering data well before I have received the last forms, thereby saving time, overall. My only recurring complaint is that the program does not ask to input royalty deductions and depreciation/depletion info. To do this one must go to Forms view, find the correct worksheet and manually input the data. The calculations are then completed automatically, but it seems like a straight-forward question to ask when the royalty data is asked for.

Update problems

Got to the end and pressed file. Message said needed to update, did that, retried and got same message. Community post said there was a patch which I installed. This time got a message that 2020 Turbotax was not installed.
Reinstalled Turbotax, updated and it worked but an extra 3 hours to fix what should have worked the first time.

Everything is very understandable and easy to review. I was able to take advantage of a disabled veterans state tax credit that I was not previously aware of.

Unfortunate software glitch cheats user

After finishing entering most my information on federal and Michigan state taxes, tried to go back to state taxes and enter my car registration fees; after half an hour of trying every way possible I had to give up. The Turbotax software will not let you go back and enter the credit. I could not get this credit and the only way I could file was without a credit of $142. VERY UNFORTUNATE. Then, Turbotax turned around and charged me $20 to e-file my Michigan taxes. I will NOT be purchasing Turbotax next year.
