I don't understand why after 2 checks and after I pulled the trigger to file electronically., the program came back and said Oops we need to check something out . I don't remember what it was but it happens every year. Then a week or so later my NYS was rejected for an error that a note said it was a program problem and said what I had to do. For whatever reason I left that page and couldn't get back to it so I went through my NYS again and filed with the assumption that whatever the problem was was fixed - we will see if it gets rejected again.

So many bugs and problems this year

Needed to file form 7202 electronically but TT didn't allow for it, even though IRS guidance says it can be done, according to IRS.gov. Also kept getting a circular error that wouldn't allow me to link my business to my Schedule C. Also TT kept saying I'd deferred social security payments last year, but did not. Not being able to file 7202 electronically was the last straw. Will probably NOT use TT from here on.
Pros: My employment status changed this year, I bought or sold investments

We always prefer using TurboTax to do our taxes.

The support team was great helping us how to figure out taxes in any situation. The program was solid each year. I will keep using it for a long time.

Turbo Tax makes doing taxes easy

I can usually figure things easier switching to forms when I run across a problem..its a great feature... I do mine and my 3 adult childrens ..I feel almost professional

Some Obvious Bugs This Year

Normally, everything goes smoothly in doing our taxes. However, this year there seemed to be a small snag. Even though I informed the software that we no longer had a self employed business from home (that my wife had closed and disposed of the business the PREVIOUS tax year in 2019), it kept asking us questions for this year of 2020. We no longer own or work the business! So, that was very frustrating and confusing. I answered questions and filled in blanks to the best of my ability. However, we had NO INCOME and NO EXPENSES. So, it all seemed pointless. I had already removed that business as income at the very start of the entire process. It still kept popping up.
