Best way to File your Tax Return

I've been using TurboTax for over 10 years. It is the only way I do file my taxes and it is very accurate and specific to your own situation. If it becomes weird when going through it is because your making a mistake. It will tell you. You can easily go back and navigate through all the pages and questions putting your right numbers all over and it will get all easy again. I always buy the CD so nothing is online, no annoying passwords, etc. until I'm sure that all of my info and numbers are entered correctly. Then I E-file. I get direct deposit of my refund. It is really a peace of mind. Worth the money.

Does the install/download ever get better?

The return went pretty smoothly, the problem was and has been every year for years, getting the darn disc to download. We had to reload 4 times and reboot the computer twice and it still didn't want to download fully. Last year it couldn't find the previous year return, it was there buy it wouldn't read it. The year before it couldn't find the previous year and it didn't want to file without updating but there were no updates. So much for tracking IRA or net loss carry forwards. This year had update/filing issues as well. I have used Turbo Tax for 25 years, I used to work for a CPA firm doing taxes and it is a great product, but I honestly think you rush the market so much to get early sales that the discs just aren't ready. I live in a remote area with iffy internet service. Having to download off the internet is painful. Yes, I will buy again next year, but it would sure be nice if things got smoother!

I never in 20 years had a problem with Turbo Tax however I will have to say it is unlikely I will ever use it again with all the log in crap etc.

Efile never works!

Each year when I attempt to Efile my federal and state returns it is invariably impossible with TurboTax. I have to then print out all my returns and mail them in. This year I have now tried on 5 separate occasions to use EFile but each time it is rejected. Why? My AGI for last year was entered exactly as it appeared on last year's return.
I'm going to try another software for my taxes next year.
