Turbo Tax Software: A dumpster fire.

I spent about 8 hours trying to get the program downloaded, 4.5 of those with tech support "glancing" and directing every move. It kept hanging on the last step. Finally it was determined that the display resolution was preventing the product key box from displaying in the final step. After getting it installed and my taxes done, the program locked where it was supposed to go out and let me pay for the state e-file. Five hours later, about 2.5 of those with online tech support "glancing" my PC. Finally, I got filed. I charge $100 per hour in my consulting business. I have about$1400 invested in using this years program. I've been using Turbo-Tax for at least 19 years. Unless you folks sell your software on a flash drive that I can load directly onto my PC to the file of my choosing, I'll be searching very hard for a substitute next year. By the way, your people were very polite, patient, and helpful, but your software has become a dumpster fire.

Hard to Nit Pick

Filing gets slightly more complicated each year, no matter what was done to try and simplify the process. Hard to quibble with TT's process. Pretty thorough, and able to spot issues pretty quickly for peace of mind my return has been competently prepared.

Some parts are difficult to follow and the help is insufficient. At times the navigation is difficult, but I have used it so many years, I have figured it out for the most part.

the update took a long time. approx over 30 min. . I had to wait to long for the update. beside that i have used turbo tax for years. loved it. but this year took long time to down load updates.

glitch with e-file

I've used turbo tax for years and this is the first year it was kicked back because it said my birthdate didn't match the IRS files. Suggested I call the Social Security Administration to verify my info is correct which I did and all is correct. I submitted my taxes again through e-file and I'm hoping this time they are accepted.
