Easy to Use

I have used Turbo Tax for years and this is the first time that I've a difficult moment. The program refused to E-File due to no State Income Tax information. My state does not have a state tax. The program had me return to the State Tax page and after 3 times of this, I just gave up and decided that if I had to mail in my returns I would. Then the program took me to the page to E-file, and it went through. This was an unnecessary stressor.

Hidden fees

I gave turbo tax 3 stars because the hidden fees for the CA state return and the fee to submit electronically. The cost of the CD, fee for state return and the electronic fee.
In addition, there were no recommendations for filing the next year

Unexpected fees

When you pay for the service online, they should mention that there will be additional charges for the state taxes and two different processing fees when it comes time to submit. Its very misleading

MORE THAN 1 STATE TOUGH!

I have used TurboTax over the years and been very satisfied. This year, I tried to create the dumpy return through downloading the software to do two state (MD,VA) returns. The directions don't say PAY and then download. I finally figured that out! I used my credit card for that $50 and then again when I e-filed the federal for a grand total of $205!!! I hope someone KNOWS how to credit or not charge me for state taxes that I did NOT e-file.

Big problem this year

IRS sent us a six-digit PIN. Turbo Tax allows only five digits. I would have preferred to e-file, but could not. Printing instructions caused me a couple of false starts, but I was ultimately successful. Otherwise, all went well.
