So Far , Enjoying the Phone

Recently got this phone as my pixel 3 didnt have enough storage space, and was hesitant to replace it. I wanted a phone that has the same qualities of Pixel 3 but with a bigger storage space. i dont see much difference in its functionality ... bigger in size, better camera specs ! The only feature im missing is wireless charging. I can comprimise that. Loving it so far!

The good the bad and the meh

This is the third Google phone I've had, and it's not really impressive, which is surprising. It does have a 128 gig memory and moves me to the 5G network when I travel to larger cities, but its camera is average, its screen sizes barely adequate for an older gentleman with failing eyes, and horribly disturbing is its lack of moisture resistance. I use the phone as a GPS device on my bike, and it is totally inappropriate for that purpose.Of course, this is almost a 1-year-old phone, so I expect Google will be bringing a number of new phones to the market shortly, so I will have a good trade-in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pixel 4a 5G

I had a pixel 2xl and read the Pixel 4a 5g was recommended for cost and camera and some google features compared to samsung or iphone SE. The camera is nice. Phone calls break up in my house from time to time on ATT, which it did a lot on my old phone. Not sure why, this is frustrating. My partners iphone never breaks up. I like everything else except they updated the way you close an open app. Perhaps I need a tutorial, but it seems like close is the only option and I can't easily switch back and forth between tasks without starting over which is frustrating. You can swipe right or up from the bottom. The latter closes your app. I was listening to a podcast, had to pause, do some other tasks, took me three minutes to get back to the podcast by starting over... ugh.There must be a solution. Still looking.

Connects to 5G network quickly and with full bars in many places my other phone didn't get a signal. Very fast and plenty storage. Definitely a five star phone.

The Pixel 4A 5G I received a week ago has been stellar. It's fast, has a great display and so far has worked flawlessly. The camera is amazing. Looking forward to trying Android 12 once it's GA.

Good upgrade for the price

Coming from a old galaxy j7, it's like going from a Toyota to a BMW. Not exactly a Lamborghini "flagships". Great phone for the people who don't want to spend Lamborghini price, but still want a fast phone with a great camera.

I have been an android, and more specifically a dedicated Samsung user for many years and have gotten used to the kind of quality Samsung continues to produce. However I have grown weary with the ever increasing and exorbitant prices of the "latest and greatest" version. So when my Galaxy S9 began showing signs that the time of replacement was growing near, I began searching for the best phone for the money.With a bit of trepidation I pulled the trigger on the Pixel 4a 5G and I have to say that in the short time I've had the phone, it has quickly become one of the most enjoyable phones I've ever had. It's not flashy but everything is just solid and works really, really well.This phone is fast and responsive, the audio quality is superb, and this phone has excellent range and really hangs onto a signal.The camera is something I don't use, or care that much about but what little I have has been excellent.I saved a fist full of money and couldn't be happier!
I would recommend this to a friend!
