Incoming phone calls will not show on screen

One of the most basic functions of the phone is not working properly. My incoming calls will not show up on the screen (pop on screen) nor will my phone light up with incoming calls. I actually have to open my screen and pull down my notification bar to search for the phone to answer it! This is awful! I have researched how to change this, but none of the solutions given work. I can see "pop on screen" under settings but it will not let me change it. On-line, there seem to be many people having the same issue. So frustrating!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Too much control of an unlocked phone provided to cell phone provider. Difficulty going back without a back button on pages or closing them draining RAM. Too much bloatware. Battery drains quickly. I would not recommend Pixel to others. Poor sound quality. No headphones provided.

Great phone with easy functions. Gave up my Samsung for it I think it processes information way faster

Update your software more specifically widgets

Phone overall is okay, I gave it a 3/5 due to its average at best selfie camera and decent back camera as well as the poor widgets the phone comes with, I'm sick and tired of scrolling all the way back to clear my cache from apps and tired of certain apps crashing. This doesn't happen on almost all flagship phones except Google and for that I give it a 3/5.

I keep getting SMI stopped.I don't know why. Also don't know where to see battery life.
