I love my new pixel 4a 5G the software on Android 12 beta 2 is awesome and the hardware is great I love the big beautiful screen and the Dual stereo speakers the cameras are the best I have ever used on a smartphone the battery life is great it gets me through the whole day.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I half wish it wouldn't have worked so well...

Before this phone I had a moto z4, along with most of the mods (projector, mini printer, speaker, etc...) I loved what it could do with all of these mods, but I really didn't like it for what its main function should have been, being a phone.Cut to my first day with the Pixel 4a 5g and its asking me if I would like to receive my calls and texts through wi-fi when I dont have good enough service? I live i a basement that has little to know service throughout. Iphones, Samsungs best, and many others have been tested down here and have been shown as not up to the task of keep a signal. The Picel 4a 5g solved a 10 year long problem in its first day, making me realize that both I made a great choice, and really don't enjoy the calls I was missing....... Oh... and this phone is 3 times as fast as my old one, with a HUGE step up in camera.

It BURST INTO FLAMES WHILE CHARGING!

My 4a 5G was great before it BURST INTO FLAMES one week after I received it. I found the call screening and call dictation features very useful. My number is similar to that of a nearby hospital so my phone often rings from calls intended for them. I like my number I don't want it changed. Instead, I stopped answering my phone. The call screening feature prompts the caller to state their name and nature of the call for me to hear giving me the option to answer, or decline. Pretty great! The real time dictation of the words spoken by the person on the other line is pretty cool too. Living on a busy street with a lot of traffic noise, being able to read and hear what's being said was nice. But last night, IT SELF IMMOLLATED 20 minutes after I plugged it in! I first noticed the hissing sound which drew my eyes to the smoke and flames prompting me to throw it into the kitchen sink! Still awaiting Google's response for a replacement. Come on Google! It's obviously a valid warranty request!
I would recommend this to a friend!
