Icemaker Monitor

LOVE my refrigerator, perfect find/addition to my kitchen remodel. Small square footage calls for creativity when choosing appliances and I'm so glad that I found this model. The reason for the less than perfect rating, is the icemaker functions poorly. There's no arm that signals that the bin is full so all the ice falls to the bottom freezer drawer! How can GE rationalize this price point and not design a functioning icemaker? Miss the mark there! Makes great ice pieces but you'll have to clean out your bottom drawer whenever your icemaker is running. I monitor and manually turn it off so it stops, then I don't have to hear the pieces dropping to the bottom like I did all summer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Third compartment is handy

Product is stainless steel however the door trim is chrome coated plastic which came damaged waiting on replacement part now on back order. Why would a SS product especially doors have coated plastic this type of material is not durable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

SubZero replacements

Elegant style and easy installation of two GE columns refers to replace two SubZero 600 series all refer /all freezer after 25 years of use. The Subzero replacements had a 6-month lead time, a different size for the built-in install and were 5 times as costly. The two GE columns look built-in, have slightly less capacity, but are more modern inside and out. Ice maker in one puts out more and clearer ice.

Beautiful style and quiet with leaky gasket

I love the refrigerator overall. It's quiet and looks great in my small kitchen. The only problem is that the gasket around the door doesn't meet the main unit when it's closed. Condensation builds up inside the refrigerator because the gap between the door and the unit allows external air into the interior of the refrigerator. A service appointment to expand the gasket seemed to solve the problem, but the gap opened up again the next day. I am hoping this can be resolved by replacing the gasket.

Great second refrigerator for drinks, leftovers, and additional items that need to be frozen. After using the refrigerator for a bit now, I wish the upper freezer drawer had an option to switch between a freezer and refrigerator. I would have rated it 4.5 stars if that was an option.
