Outstanding Solar Light

I have had this for a year now and it works very well. Provides the right light at a dark entry point. It will also trigger all the other lights to come on.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great concept, functionality and reliability poor

Have these solar path lights in my front yard and side yard, love the concept of smart lighting, however they don’t always function properly and they don’t last! Have already warrantied 4 of 11 lights and they’ve began to fail as well!! They still need a lot of work!

nice light, bad battery

Ours was less than a year old and the battery had completely died. A replacement cost was similar to the cost of the entire light so a huge disappointment.

Hello RingIsOk,

There are several possibilities that could cause the device to go unresponsive. Check the following items:

Check your batteries.
Check your Auto Shut Off control in your device controls in the Ring app. You may have incorrectly set the time on the control.
Take yourself out of the equation. Leave the area for 10 minutes to give the lights time to reset without you triggering them, and then return and check the lights.

Solar Step Light

I bought two of the solar pathway lights about a year ago. Both are no longer working due to battery issues. Both receive direct south sunlight in Pennsylvania. One has a replacement battery from Ring. I’m very disappointed.
My Solar Pathway lights work much better. I do wish Ring adjusted charging based on the season from the bridge.

Hello Homeowner,

If it's winter, and you're in an area that gets less than the recommended eight hours of sunlight per day, you may need to move your unit or the solar panel to catch as much light as possible when the sun is in the sky. Bright & Versatile light
on December 19, 2022

I have 9 of these Solar Steplights. 7 of them are mounted about 4 ft high and spaced out about every 10-15 feet along the block wall in a side yard. They provide ample light for that area when walking through there. The other two are mounted under my outdoor kitchen in the seating area. Those two do not get direct sunlight yet the solar panel still keeps them charged enough that I only have to plug them in for a few hours once every year to bring them back to full charge. Like them a lot and much brighter than I thought they would be. Note: They all stopped taking a charge at one point this year and I thought the batteries needed to be replaced. Turned out when I called tech support that they just needed a firmware update. All I had to do was plug them in overnight and the update automatically downloaded and installed. After that they began solar charging properly again.

These devices are complete garbage. I’ve had to replace EVERY single one as they only last 1 year tops! This last round even had me waiting half a year for Ring to finally ship me a replacement light after the last one died.
