Extra features makes it quite convenient to use: webcam off/on switch, HDMI and usb-c that can be used for external monitors, micro SD slot, headphone jack that automatically detects headphone mic. Battery life decent.

The laptop looks very stylish to him and he says it screams through apps and working on stuff. He is really excited to really start pounding on it once school starts in a few weeks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Lenovo T-series for decades. I recently switch from Yoga 900 back to T490 and I love it. As I used it for work-from-home, I like the number of built-in ports it offer (HDMI, Ethernet, etc). I even used the micro SD slot to expand the storage. The speed of the micro SD is fast. In addition, it has 1 memory slot which I added 16GB which bring it to 32GB total. It allows me to run several VMs at once (for lab).
