[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed a laptop for programming in college. I chose the intel version and found the build quality to be very nice. I would have liked a removable battery, but the internal one is replaceable worst case. Additionally, the laptop thermal throttles but I have a fan underneath to take care of that. Overall a great laptop with good Lenovo quality!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great laptop, Always have liked Lenovo laptops. No issues. Running Ubuntu 20.04 and everything worked perfectly even the thumbprint reader. I was even able to move the Windows OS that it came with to a virtual machine. Highly recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a 20 year IT Professional and have had many different models of laptops during that time.
I wanted the thinnest business class laptop I could find with an on-board Ethernet port for connecting to switches and networking equipment to configure them.
My new Lenovo ThinkPad T490 more than exceeded my expectations.
My model has a quad-core i7 8565U CPU and 16GB of Ram, and 500GB SSD.
The laptop is solidly built, and the keyboard is the best I've ever used on a notebook.
It feels like I'm typing on a a regular sized keyboard, and I've yet to experience the mouse jumping around when typing due to poorly designed trackpad with less than optimal palm rest rejection.
I opted for the touchscreen as I use that a lot. I've only used it for two hours on battery but after two hours I still had 80% battery left.
