I’m coming over from a Mac and I specifically wanted a laptop with similar or better build quality, which was a major factor in choosing a ThinkPad. After weeks of research, I decided on this model because of a combination specs and portability. I use this for general productivity, web browsing, and light streaming - nothing too intense and this laptop is more than fast enough to handle the tasks.
I do wish Lenovo kept the external battery option like the T480, but it’s not a huge deal break for me. I have a power bank to replace that. Upgradeability is good too if I decide to add more RAM. Overall, this machine is more than adequate for my needs. For those on the fence, it’s worth it and you won’t regret the purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just what I was counting on. Fast, light and easy to set up. The computer goes step by step to get all the settings set for me. I had a Thinkpad through my work but needed a personal one. Our tech said this one was going to be a beast and it is. Don't have to wait for anything to load, can multi-task and does video conferencing well. Thank you Lenovo to continue to make a great product.

Worst Piece:Speaker and mic & backlite keyboard

I am the frequent international traveler. I had horrible experience on this new T490 and within the week speakers,Mic and backlite keyboards not working. I handed over to official service center for repairing . But no luck, they returned the product with no fix and no use internatinal warrenty
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
