[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the simplicity of use with the ThinkPad and the IBM-type keyboard. This is my second ThinkPad.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Really is a solid powerhouse.
However! This machine with its quad core processor heats this beast up A LOT. The bottom surface gets alarmingly hot and the keyboard surface doesn't get too uncomfortable but I think many would disagree with me. I reccomend one of those laptop cooling pads, nothing too crazy because I haven't had the laptop throttle on me yet so Cleary the cooling system is getting the job done but unfortunately just enough. I still reccomend this machine, especially if it's going to sit on a desk and not your lap for most of the day.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love everything about this laptop! It's the same version I use at work and I couldn't be happier having my own as I look to launch my own company in 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this laptop. Thinkpads have always been extremely reliable in my experience. I didn’t realize not all of these come with backlit keyboards, so if that’s important to you make sure you pay attention when you order.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Typical Lenovo build quality--solid. The keyboard has a slightly "spongy" feel, but far superior to most laptop keyboards, especially those in the ultra-thin/light category. This does make the T490 slightly thicker than the competition, but that's a trade-off that I'm willing to make in order to get a nice keyboard. The unit is pleasantly light, and is a good travel companion. I'm glad someone still makes a laptop that allows you to easily upgrade RAM and SSD. Great as a Linux platform--everything (except the fingerprint reader) including the NVidea video card works out of the box with POP/Ubuntu.
