[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Was looking for a replacement for my old T430, which I found to be very durable during nearly 10 years of work. While I was looking for potential comparable laptops from competitors, I found that at the given price T490 was clearly the best replacement: it has very nice technical characteristics, though I didn't test the battery properly since I didn't have to travel. For someone who need a laptop that is compact, yet powerful and robust I am quite happy with this replacement. If I needed a second laptop with the same purpose, I would not even redo the big search reconsidering other options.

Typing is easy and comfortable, the display is great and I look forward to exploring opportunities via the Thunderbolt 3 port. I have had no significant issues yet.

Super fast ... avg Boot time is around 15 secs.
16 gb of RAM is perfect for photo editing.
USB C is huge for usage.
It comes with micro SD card slot, but I miss SD card slot.
