[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased 3 of these ThinkPads to upgrade our team and could not be happier at this point. Speed, lots of speed. All of us love it, speed! This is making all of us more productive. For me, the keyboard took a little time adjusting to it and I can't say way. I have had many laptops and maybe each one takes time. Would buy again. Hope I feel the same at the 1 year, 3 year and 5 year mark.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the T490 seems like a great machine. There are marked improvements in fit and finish vs older Lenovo machines I'm familiar with, the L440 comes to mind. The newer track pad is a definite improvement over those and the overall build quality seems higher. It has a lot of features that you would come to expect in a T series machine. I'm a bit confused as to why a laptop that doesn't convert into a tablet would need a touchscreen, but no one said I had to use it. Technically my work purchased this machine for me and I had hoped for a P series, but the T490 is still a great box. It's definitely a major upgrade over my T430 that this replaces. Boot times with the NVMe drive and 16GBs of ram are so quick. Kind of wish they'd opted for a slightly larger drive as well, but hey I didn't have to pay for it so beggars can't be choosers.

Bought the laptop about a month and a half or so and it took a while to get to my address, mainly because it was in the customs office for about a week. When the product finally arrived it was in pretty good conditions. The graphics are pretty decent, runs rocket league 50-60 fps pretty nicely, it does create a good amount of heat on the right side but it’s not much to worry about. The display once in a while sort of starts blinking when it’s on the lockscreen, I believe it’s some issue with the fingerprint scanner since it sort of thinks that a finger is in the scanner and just says wrong, i have to enter my pin when that happens. Overall it has served pretty well all my general purposes, it runs the Unity Game Engine pretty well as well as Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code. The battery charges up pretty fast, haven’t had the time to test the battery (i bought the smallest battery capacity).
The keyboard is pretty great, i really like the way it feels and I sometimes use the trackpoint.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have all ThinkPad T400 series laptops. Every year it gets better. The T490 is no exception. It improves on all previous features and adapts to the current needs of the businessman for overall performance - processor, display, physical profile and useful features. If you want a desktop to carry around in notebook form, the T series is it and the T490 is the one for the present day. Its a must have.
