[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Lenovo T-490 with Core I-7, 8 gb of ram, and 512 SSD needing something for work and school. I must say that I come from a devoted Macbook Pro owner for many years but I needed a PC due to research programs and compatibility. For me, this PC has lived up to my standards with no issues to report after heavy use for approx. 2 months. Some of the features I admire are the HD screen, the keyboard experience, the touchscreen and the USB type C charging. I would buy this laptop again if I had to do it all over again with no regrets. At the $1000 price point, you get what you pay for and I believe that I got my money's worth with the Lenovo Thinkpad T-490. If you are on the fence about his computer, do youself a favor and stop worrying and just buy it! Swapping out the 8gb and put a 16 gb in it's place in 5 mins. Nothing complicated here. Cough, cough .... Apple.

It's true what people say about the keyboard - nothing out there like that, tactile and responsive and lots of travel. Screen is wonderful and colors are rich and saturated in a very satisfying level great job Lenovo (2K 500 nits). It did take quite some time to get here but well worth the wait.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cheap hinges to the screen on my Asus K401 laptop broke unexpectedly last month and I've been looking for a replacement ever since. Finally settled on the Thinkpad T490 two weeks ago from the Lenovo website. Its a great all around laptop with decent specs, sturdy, speedy and light weight. The fingerprint ID login is super fast and convenient, the famous Thinkpad's keyboard is definitely a pleasure to type on, the battery life seemed adequate and the fast charge is simply wonderful. The only regret I have is not getting the 500 nits UHD screen in stead of the 300 nits FHD ips screen. The 300 nits is actually more than adequate and is way better than my last Asus K401 laptop in terms of brightness and contrast, but personally I prefer an even brighter and higher resolution screen, especially with the fast charging ability which would somewhat alleviated the concerns for faster battery consumption on an UHD monitor. I had owned a Thinkpad T420 before the fragile Asus K401 many years ago, I hope the T490 will be as durable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Highlights are a nice backlit keyboard with great feel in the keys, a rich display that is easy on the eyes and very bright if needed, very quick boot up, very good sound from speakers all in a light weight, rugged housing. A great laptop that replaced a 12 year old Lenovo laptop that served me well as I am sure this T490 will also serve me for years to come!

I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a ThinkPad T490 Laptop recently. There was an issue occurred that was the screen turned black when I didn't use the laptop for a while, but I couldn't have it turn on when I wanted to use it. The situation was I didn't use the laptop for like 20 minutes, and it went to sleep mode and it was on battery power. The only way to have the screen back was that I have to press the power button to restart the laptop and every program I had on the laptop was gone. This happened twice so far. It more likely is Windows' problem. I want to report the issue that I had so far since I received this survey request.
