I upgraded to this laptop after my previous 4 year old Lenovo was feel slow and the screen a little too slow. Unfortunately, I have found the performance of this machine not notably faster than my 4 year old laptop. I also find that frequently I type and letters somehow don't appear despite my clearly hitting the keyboard. The battery life is realistically 1.5 - 2 hours, no where near what I was thinking I'd get (4+ hours). Besides the bigger screen size the only thing I like more about this laptop versus the old one was the fact that I can easily access the SD card slot (previous one was tucked behind the hing of the screen).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first ever Thinkpad. Though I do own a Lenovo Legion, I was looking for a lighter and more mobile laptop. I researched all models under the Thinkpad line-up and this one more than meets my needs. I needed a mobile PC with plenty of horse power and added security. The screen is beautiful and the keyboard feels amazing. I cannot recommend it enough. Make sure you do your homework as not all Thinkpads are the same.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You can't go wrong with Lenovo's business class laptops. The T490 version I bought could use some more RAM, but easy enough to add another 8GB stick.
Pros: great keyboard, crisp screen
Cons: not as stylish as some others, ok battery life
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I work as a middle school teacher and bought this product to help deliver online classes. It is an awesome computer for what I need. I hope my district finds the funds to buy these for all faculty members!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this laptop! It is the perfect size while packing the punch I need so that I can complete the tasks my boss gives me. Whether you use this for work or school, you will not be disappointed with this workhorse! There are way too many features on this laptop to write about so I am just goin to tell you that this laptop has it all and I would not change a thing.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice so far, trackpad's a little sticky sometimes. Otherwise no problems yet. Love the fast boot up. Wish it was a but bugger but if you like portable this is definitely that.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my new Laptop, I use it for school and at home on my home WiFi I get 500 mbps about for network connectivity. It also has the ability to wire directly into a LAN but that is only at about 100 mbps. The only feature I wish it had is a 10 key pad also. It is fast and has a long battery life. I can usually go all day without charging it.
