[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] By far the best computer I have had the opportunity to use. I was not able to pick 'n choose my own computer this go around and boy am I lucky!!! The ThinkPad T490 is MORE than I anticipated it would be. Pixels, clarity of the pictures, fonts, speed, music play back, etc are above and beyond what I expected in a "smaller" screen/computer. Back light/keyboard is the cherry on top! The lighted keyboard makes for late night emails and spreed sheets so much easier and quicker!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks and feels like a normal Thinkpad, but inner parts show cost cutting. In first 3 weeks I've had fan and motherboard replaced. There is coil whine issues and constant fan noise that makes this somewhat annoying.

The processor works well and there was no problem in creating a linux dual boot. The GPU works well and can give a real big improvement in timing when training small neural networks. Only drawback is the battery that when doing heavy computation doesn't last long but that is difficult to avoid.
