Complete Waste of Money

The 3D printer was a Christmas present for my husband and stopped working the first week of February. The cut off for returns was January 31, so naturally it broke two days later. We have done trouble shooting and have officially given up. I can't believe this lasted barely a month (and I bought new instead of open box to avoid these problems).

made to be disposible and broke immediately after warranty expired

As soon as my warranty expired the feeder tension arm broke, and after 3 attempts to order a replacement from monoprice, and receiving mismatched junk that wouldn't even work with other parts within the purchased kit. I gave up and got a universal from Amazon. The universal fits, but requires a different drive gear. Monoprice seems to glue their drive gear on, so the feeder motor has to be changed. The feeder motor is inside the top cover, the top cover wraps around the bottom of the unit and has all lower components on it. So, a simple feeder motor change requires complete disassembly of the unit.

Amazing value, instant satisfaction.

If you are loading gcode files from the provided microsd/transflash media, it is seamless and instantly useful.
It would be nice to have a small handbook of non-obvious information, like sd card compatibility (not all cards work, try another!), perhaps some slicing and printing basics (take advantage of the heated bed!) or about creating a good printing micro-environment (cold draft = warped base, with some materials)
The most quizzical part for me is the inclusion of transparent sample filament, after a while I figured out I'm not out of filament, it's just hard to see through the semi-opaque tube. Pushing it through with the next roll was my solution, and I have not seen any hitches since!

Easy to set up and adjust

I thought the printer was easy to set up, printed a test part 20 minutes after I opened the box. Have done many prints with it that have turned out wonderfully. Printing multiple parts requires some setting changes but that wasn't hard.

WORST PRINTER EVER

DO NOT BUY Worked for about a month until filament dug into the side of the printer. The printer made a grinding noise inside and that's not covered b the warranty. The printer is very loud and annoying. After a couple of usages, the bed had a hole melted into it. Would stay away from monoprice's cheap printers and other products. Go and buy an ender 3 or 3 pro instead of buying some non-functional trash. The service sucks and I spent a lot to fix this printer. NOT WORTH 200

Disappointed

I bought this as a beginner's entry to the 3D world. The instructions are not helpful. The extruder jams frequently and I have been unable to print anything except the included cat figure. A real disappointment and waste of $200.
