Not For Beginners, priced for components not function
on April 2, 2021

The components of this printer are a great price if your willing to modify it. I wish it had come already with these basic upgrades but you must factor them into the price because this printer is unusable without them. New Extruder, bowden tube, vertical rail stabilizer bar, and an anti-vibration dampener on the X-axis. The touch screen is not very sensitive, I use a stylus otherwise it selects random things. The Wi-Fi does not work. The auto leveling assist does not work well.
The detachable head makes it easy to swap nozzles. If you plan on printing over 200mm layer height than you will need to get a larger nozzle.
You need to change the extruder to an all metal extruder, you must change the bowden tube to a Capricorn tube, and you must run the boweden tube out of the provided cable sleeve otherwise you have to remove the power connectors to the head everytime you need to clear the hot end. Print a fan guard for the front fan to avoid damaging it when adjusting anything on the hotend, the fan runs all the time even when not being heated.
The slicing software uses a deprecated version of Cura, do not update to the latest version, it must be version 4.1 and only the version included with the printer. I tried everything and could not get prints to work because I updated the software. You must use Dr. Vax's settings to get anything remotely usable, which means imputing custom code into Cura's printer settings.
The leveling assist is not functional, it comes up with different and random values every time. Its like playing a game of leveling roulette, once you get a level that works, don't touch it again if you can help it, the bed mesh it creates cannot be adjusted manually.
Since the bed is so large and the plate is so thin, it will have uneven bed level from corner to corner so adjust the Z height to the area of the bed that you use the most. and try not to print anything wider or deeper than 1/4 of the bed width or your print will fail. Closer to the left is in my experience better than in the middle or right side of the build plate.
The vertical rail needs to be stabilized otherwise you will get acoustic wave patterns on the print, you can find a stabilizer for another brand (CR10) of this same design.
I have had mine for over a year and have printed ABS, Flex, TPU, PLA, and PETG. I have printed successfully over 300mm height prints using a .8mm nickle coated hardened steel nozzle with a base size of 100mm. I don't use Cura anymore, I run a rasb-pi using OctoPi and used the math from Dr. Vax on all the components to get good prints now it runs solid.

The sensor for the leveler broke, but Monoprice customer service is great they are trying to source me a new MP10 to replace mine that I had for 2 weeks. I have a whole series on my YouTube channel sudotechpanda for the MP10 there a to few videos out there so I started one. The quality comes out very well.

Warping Frustrations
on January 25, 2021

I have sporadic trouble with the print product warping. I use Magigoo, heat the bed tempt to the proper temp, use a raft. It usually happens with larger print objects, but sometimes with smaller ones too.

Not enough Open source and high cost of repairs

I bought this printer to allow me to print facemask shields for local first responders and nursing home staff because my older Monoprice, I have three now, could only print one at a time. I paid $400 at the time for this printer, which I really couldn't' afford, but I wanted to get the face shields printed ASAP. I first had issues with the brass piece that holds the tubing at the Hotend becoming loose most of the time and when attempting to tightening it I discovered that it was stripped, which pretty mush renders the whole hotend assembly useless. I managed to rig enough to get a few more prints, but then it started having issues with the bed leveling assistance sensor causing issues to the point I had to unplug it to be able to print! If you can get a replacement hotend they are about $50 and you can only get them from Monoprice so if they are out of stock you are out of luck. Now it just sites on my workbench reminding me I wasted $400 and I'm using a borrowed Creality CR10 that printed over 200 faceshields without any issues. I had other issues with the printer, but the hotend was what rendered it a large paperweight. No more Monoprice printers for me.

Half of large prints fail
on September 21, 2020
Posted by: Lindsey F
So far half of prints that are longer than ~5hrs fail in some stupid way or another, which pretty much negates the purpose of having such a large format 3d printer. First failure was the cable that holds wires/filament to the extruder slowly drooped into print area and the print bed hit it and threw everything off by 1/4". I rigged up something to support this cable. Some were unknowns causes. Some are just massive staggers without clear reason. Some just decided they were out of filament when they were not, but it you press continue quickly enough it'll keep going. I have a MP 10 mini running as well which has a higher success rate, likely owing to the fact it can only print a fraction the size. I think I might need to rig up something to stabilize as I suspect it is shaking itself so hard it's throwing something off.

Love it but there's a few little hiccups

This is a great printer. The only thing is you will need to replace the bowden tube and the extruder almost immediately because the standard ones aren't up to snuff. There's also no profile in Cura for it, contrary to what Monoprice says. Dr Vax has you covered if you look up his profile for the MP10.
