More than expected

I was looking for a shredder that would crosscut, or easily cut credit cards, and one that could handle a few pages at a time. This shredder more than meets my expectations. I get a lot of junk mail and don't even want to open them anymore, but I can't just throw it away because I had my whole trash can stolen once and the ONE piece of paper I didn't shred was in the trash; I received a call from the authorities wanting to fine me for littering because they went through the dumped trash and found that one piece of paper with my name and address on it. I shred everything with my name or address on it. I can put the whole junk mail envelope into the shredder and it performs like magic! I also like that I can add a thin trash bag to the required container to collect all the shreddings for easy disposal. The little window on the front of the container shows me whether I have to empty it or not--I get busy and sometimes forget to check. I can't say that it is quiet, but it's not real noisy either--it's about right for a shredder. I LOVE this little machine and am completely satisfied with my purchase.

My boyfriend purchased this shredder for me this past Christmas. I think that this shredder does what I need it to which is just to shred small jobs at a time. If you do an excessive amount of shredding, it will get warm and overheat, and then you have to wait for it to cool down. I only do a small amount per day so this definitely works for what I need it to.

Love the Powershred® H-7C Cross-Cut Shredder

I've been looking for a shredder for quite some time and finally purchased this one. It's super easy to use, works great, looks great, and it's too noisy. I expect to be using this shredder for a long time.

Cons: Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction, Quality Construction, Quiet Operation, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size, Service Guarantee, Sheet Capacity, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Warranty, cool down takes too long, could of been 2 gallon size, needs longer cord to plug in, needs legs on it, could cut paper up into smaller pieces, could sherd more papers, could shred faster, needs to open up at the bottom to empty paper, more years on warranty, free replacement

Our original shredder gave out after many years of service, and this is a great replacement, with added safety features, such as a lock to keep curious grandkids from using it.

Excellent purchase

Wanting to limit the mount of exposure in today's world to identity theft, (and not having access to open burning!), I was intent on purchasing a shredder. Upon doing some research, this one came highly recommended. So far, this little shredder has preformed very well. I like the fact that it can be locked to avoid safety hazards. It is quick and efficient. I'm hoping to be able to use the shredded materials as packing to keep as much out of landfills as possible and by recycling, keeping my own costs down. My only complaint would be that I would like the cut size to be even smaller.
