Best Shredder I've Ever Owned

This shredder is excellent because it is a micro-shredder that cuts paper into confetti and gives you complete security when disposing of personal information. It is a hard-working machine that keeps going without overheating or jamming. It can also cut credit cards and stapled paper without difficulty. It is a little loud, but not excessively so.

Great purchase, BUT

I bought the machine 2 days ago and have been using it quite a lot due to a back-up of papers to be shredded since our last shredder finally quit. I am very happy with it, very impressed how small the shredded pieces are, including credit cards. It is a little frustrating that it can only be used for about 5 min before overheating, but I can deal with that. I initially missed a line in the manual that was enclosed that said: 'Maximum recommended daily usage rate: 50 sheets; 5 cards.' It's a good thing I decided to register today and also read the full owner's manual. Only 2 small sections of it were not included in the paper manual. One was about trouble shooting, the other was about OILING the shredder. It was recommended to use vegetable oil after each time the bin was full. It filled up quite fast , so I'm sure I emptied it at least 6-8 times already. Now I'm afraid to use it until I find or buy a container with the correct tip to put the oil in. Sooo, I wish that information was included in the paper manual, even highlighted, because that seems to be the most important information Fellowes could have given us. I wanted to contact Fellowes to tell them that. Today is Sunday, so I couldn't call. The 'Contact Us' page said we could email them at any time, but NO EMAIL ADDRESS IS GIVEN anywhere on the page. I would still highly recommend this product to others, making sure to tell them to lubricate!

For many years I have had shredders from Fellowes and this continues to be a fine product that I need for my office. I highly recommend Fellowes as a fine company with great products.

I love this shredder! There is no way anyone can piece anything together. It is confetti!

Cons: the container fills up too quickly.

Does not jam like my old one did

I'm able to shred quite a bit without having to stop and unclog the teeth. Paper doesn't get jammed even when shredding quite a few sheets. I like that it stops when it gets hot so that it can cool off before starting back up again

Best investment model ever.

This was my first time ordering a shredder. There were so many out there and this particular model fits my needs for personal home use. I love that it has an auto shutdown overheat protection with 5 minute ongoing use. It works very well. I highly recommend this model for average personal home use. You get your money's worth.

Nice Shredder

The design is stylish, the micro cut is fantastic. My only complaint is that it is not built to shred 8 sheets at once. Can it do it? Maybe.
I wanted to test the limits of this shredder, so I place 8 sheets in and the shredder slowly chewed them up. I placed another 8 sheets in and even slower this time the sheets went down. Another set of 8 and the shredder was smoking and eventually overheated. About 30 minutes later I was able to clear the jam.
Four sheets maximum is what I recommend you place in the shredder to keep your shredder clear of jams and overheating. However even after 5 minutes of shredding sets of 4, the motor again overheated and needed time to cool down. Except this time there was no jamming/smoking.
