Love Turbo Tax

I use Turbo Tax for my Partnership as well as my personal taxes. I normally buy a CD, but this year I decided to download. I thought it would take hours. It took a total of 30 minutes for both my Personal and Business. They walk you through everything. Super easy.

1065s Still Need Keen Eye

With the last few years it's important to keep an eye out for settings if you pop between forms & the walkthru. Some errors occur consistently - e.g. the application setting LLC member entity type as PLLC vs. I (individual). This can lead to frustration if you've not encountered it before as it triggers errors related to setting an LLC member as the responsible party for tax matters. Because it *thinks* you've assigned an entity vs. an individual it expects certain fields to be set. It also appears that some values importing from either QuickBooks or prior year's TurboTax return don't always flow to the proper location. Best route is to keep good notes when working through the return to ensure values as as they should be and do the Schedule L, M1 and M2 and keep your QuickBooks in shape throughout the year. L, M1 and M2 aren't required but they sure can help finding issues in your QuickBooks file!

Nothing but praise for the program except for one thing. I use business for S-Corps and Premier, but always have to upgrade to do my personal taxes. Always cost me another $10. Not a huge amount, just annoying to have to do that when I purchased two products already.
