Absolutely awful product

This is the second year I've used TurboTax Business. I honestly think that if you are not going to put effort into building this product with the same usability and quality assurance I've come to expect through using your TurboTax Premier product, you should simply stop selling it. I purchased this Business edition because I have a non-revocable trust that I need to file a return for, and it is the only TurboTax product that supports trusts. I will try one of your competitor's products next year. This was two years of a very bad experience in filing my trust returns and I won't repeat it again.

Social Security (SS): Problem in calculation

Math problem discovered when calculating taxable amount of social security. We relied on the automatic calculation of our social security taxes and for several years incurred penalties with the IRS. This year I discovered that if there is a negative number as one of the 1040 lines used in the calculation, your system just keeps the negative number and doesn't do the math. It changed our 1040 line from -$4K to a positive $11K which makes a difference in our taxable income. Beware!!

Not very user friendly. Difficult to find information on what needs to be done. Definitions are to brief and generic. Calling in for help is a nightmare trying to get to a live person. The robot that answers is poorly programmed and keeps asking the same questions even if you say no.

State Taxes. Disappointing

I used TurboTax Business to file 3 trust returns. I paid extra for the Illinois State Return. What a joke! Turbotax does transfer my information, but when you go to review your return it pops up a bunch of items, shows you where they are on the state return, and expects you to know what to do with zero explanation. For the Federal Returns TT asks you questions to gather the necessary information. But there is nothing like that for the state return. TT just takes your money, and then leaves you to figure out what you're supposed to do. I would have been better off just going to the State website and figuring it out on my own. As best as I can tell, all TT did for me was to autofill some basic fields. Definitely regret paying them a state fee, as it was a total waste of money.

Turbo Tax Business cannot e-file QBI

TurboTax business is obviously the poor stepchild of the family. It cannot file California returns electronically and, though it keeps insisting you upload the Safe Harbor statement, it will not allow you to, and so will not allow you to e-file if you are claiming a QBI deduction. This was true last year, and is misleadingly true again this year. It is useful as an electronic pile of forms, provided you already know how to fill them out. Instructions are often misleading.

Pretty good, but confusing in some places

This was my first time filing S-Corp taxes. Overall it was good, the software helped me learn a lot of concepts and things for next time. However, it was buggy in some areas. My S-Corp filing date was about a month after my incorporation date and it wouldn't let me file.
