TurboTax and Estate Filings

TurboTax requries the use of the Business version to file an Estate tax form. The help on it is good, but some things, like what to do with a 1099-R, are only covered by looking them up in Help, and offer no explanation of what they are doing with the data. Be prepared to need questions answered if your Estate filing is not extremely simple. (Most are, though.)

Helpful but not always clear

Should be more user friendly, should include options to import statements and documents from financial institutions. Connecticut state program particularly unclear as to what was imported and what needed to be added or changed. Importing documents from financial institutions would have been particularly helpful.

TurboTax Business has problems with State of WI

TurboTax refused to e-file Amended Form 3 with Wisconsin and State of WI refused to allow US Mail. Turbotax did nothing to resolve this problem. Also when filing Wisconsin Form 2 Turbo Tax did not allow for required attachments to Schedule CC (Will & Inventory) for e-filing
