I love turbotax

Very unclear on what was efiled and deducted.

I paid $170 and the $55 for California but now it states I can't efile California but I didn't ask me to print out any files for California. I put in routing info but seems like still have to send in a check for estimated taxes but not clear that it doesn't process the estimated withdraw automatically.

For the price, this software is very, very basic. It has glitches such as only allowing you to attach one attached document, even though instructions clearly say to attach 1099-B if combining all transactions when reporting short and long term gains/losses. It doesn't show a running total of taxes due, even when computations are completed - not even a summary screen. You don't find out what you owe until you do a print preview. Very poorly designed, in my opinion.

All good but one flaw in estimated taxes

very easy to use. However I paid an estimated tax 6 weeks late and Turbotax will not take the late date or calculate any penalty. Therefore I had to print the forms and file by mail. The system should be able to take a late payment date in the estimate tax category so I don't have to do all of this paper filing. I'm sure a lot of people forget to file estimated taxes on time.

I am very pleased that turbo tax finds your previous years return information as a guide in the current year including the depreciation schedule. This saves a great deal of time and helps to prevent missing any tax data. Help features continue to give more precise information also..

TurboTax Helps Get the Job Done

I've used TurboTax for years for business and personal. I think it's great if you already have some tax accounting knowledge. Sometimes it's hard to know the right answer, even with the explanations defined. I've never used customer support for a tax question, but I suspect using those experts is a good way to go if you get stuck. Otherwise, TurboTax is straightforward and easy to use.
