Turbo Tax continues to be a lifesaver!

I have used Turbo Tax Business for years for my corporate tax return, but this is the first year that I had to file a return for a trust account. With Turbo Tax it was a breeze to complete the trust return.

Great until I get to the State side, there your software finds errors that are correct according to the Federal side, simple things like name of company , etc.

Filed Trust Return

This software was excellent for filing and printing 1041 Trust Return. It uploads data from prior year's return, such as beneficiaries, capital loss carry forward and filer info. Appreciate electronic filing option.

I was worried that I wouldn't get this done in time due to some late paper work. I didnt have time to find an accountant but I had all the numbers from the year with me which is probably what made this product easy to use.

Great Program, Just One Major Glitch

I have been using TurboTax Business for many years and find it to be extremely user friendly. I haven't run into any problems with the program. It's powerful and covers everything I need to do the Trust and Partnership (LLC) returns I prepare. However, in both 2019 and 2020, I ran into a very annoying problem with the activation of the program. It seems that every time Microsoft does an update to Windows, it must erase some data field and TurboTax thinks I am installing it for the first time, asking for the license code again. I work on these returns throughout March and April each year and I end up getting a message that I have installed the program 5 times and that is all I get. So far the only resolution is to call TurboTax and they end up sending me another code. This is very time consuming and needs to be fixed. Without this issue, the program would be fantastic.

All in all the experience was good. I did have difficulty doing the k-1 info. It was a little vague in that dept, but we got the info entered manually.

Turbo Tax Gets the Job Don

Needs work. Does not allow a separate category for 1099-R for estates, which has to be put in "other income" as a result.
