TurboTax was a lifesaver in filing Estate Taxes

My mother passed away in 2020. While her estate was a simple one, after trying to fill out the forms (one IRS form always leads to another one), I was very frustrated and concerned about doing everything correctly. TurboTax walks you through everything and asks questions in a mostly straightforward manner.

Extremely Frustrating!

Every year, I experience the same problems using TT-B. It is the only TT product that is not available in an OS (i.e. Mac) version. Consequently, I have to fight with virtual machine software updates and Windows (which is infamously fraught with issues, system crashes, unexplainable errors, etc.) just to download it. This process routinely takes longer than it does to complete the taxes! I use a Mac exclusively for my business. I have no other reason to use Windows other than to run TT-B once per year. Given that EVERY other TT product is available for download and use in Mac OS, I don't understand why TT-B is the holdout. While it may be true that most businesses were Windows-based 25-30 years ago, that is no longer the case. Quite a few business, like ours, prefer the Mac-OS environment for running their operation. The fact that TT-B is not offered for use on this platform defies logic. It is indeed a lost opportunity. If I am able to find a comparable product that is able to be used in Mac OS, I will undoubtedly switch. Furthermore, given that Apple has decided to ditch Intel processors in favor of their proprietary M1 chips for their forthcoming models, I suspect ours won't be the only business to do so!

Doing the federal taxes went well. Doing the State taxes was confusing and a headache, not from Turbo Tax's point but from the state's point of view. It was not Turbo Taxes fault, they made every effort to help.

I used to have to purchase proseries to complete my own 1041s. TurboTax for Business makes it so much easier!

Turbotax stubbornness

For the state return - turbotax enters a zero value automatically. It then tells me it can't file because a zero value in invalid. Only correct option would be to leave the line blank - but Turbotax will not allow edits as it is pulling the value from federal - and will not allow the federal to be blank.

You have a glitch

The Meals don't transfer between the federal return and the balance sheet for the state. It's really annoying to file my federal return then go back and butcher it to make the balance sheet match for the state return.
