Intuit has gone into the dumpster

The 'new' Intuit setup is the most idiotic thing ever. TurboTax Business will not import Quickbooks on line. Quickbooks is discontinuing desktop effective April 2021, so there is no easy fix short of paying Intuit an additional $350 to convert your QB files into TurboTax readable. I've used the Intuit system for 15+ years, and now looking for a new solution. It's a shame they had to mess with what works.

First Time Business Owner Tax Filing

Turbo Tax Business made it extremely simple to file my taxes and create K-1s for my small business partnership. The step by step guidance was very helpful. My only complaint would be that the system does not give information when there is an error filing a return. For instance, when filing the franchise tax return, the system would not submit it until the system opened for Texas. However, Turbo Tax Business did not give a sufficient description of why the return could not be submitted. It caused a decent amount of confusion. However, I was ultimately able to figure it out and get everything submitted correctly. I would definitely recommend Turbo Tax Business to anybody that has a small business.

Does the job, but update process is totally broken

I am a trustee who needs to file four or five tax returns every year. This version (TurboTax Business 2019) did the job, as usual, but the automatic updates don't work at all and I had to keep working around this by downloading patches and skipping updates when the program asks for them (for example, during review and filing).

Not Great - Where is the integration to QB Online?

I can't imaging that these products would not be integrated, but they are not and that is foolish. I had to rekey, cross check, etc. so having both saved me no time whatsoever. The workaround (download desktop eval, load/convert, etc.) was a mess and actually ended up costing me more time than just hard copying the data I needed and creating my own spreadsheets for entry. Until this is fixed I would not suggest wasting your time or money on this. I am going back to doing mine by hand... at least I can trust the inputs and outputs.

Worked Well - Mostly

With one exception, this was a easy-to-use, well organized product. I prefer it to the on-line product because it has a Forms View and generally has a good ability to look at the underlying calculations that the software performs. The key exception was processing of shareholder payroll. The software asks you to enter shareholder payroll in multiple places, sometimes deleting it from where you previously entered it and sometimes duplicating the deducation. This functionality needs work.

TurboTax Business is terrible, especially State

I am using the program to prepare returns for a couple of trusts. The program is terrible.
- Inability to import 1099 data from brokerage accounts is unacceptable. If it can be done on other TurboTax products (that cost less) why can't it be done on this one?
- On State program (MA):
- Could not delete previously entered beneficiaries. Only way to get rid of them was to delete ENTIRE state return and start over. When deleted them on Federal, the change did not carry through to State. Instead, State return still showed the beneficiaries and just changed their name to "Untitled". When you click on "Edit" to edit those beneficiaries, there should be a button to delete the beneficiary.
- Data on trust distributions that were not required by the trust did not carry through properly from Federal to State. Hence Schedule IDD Line 8 was wrong, which meant IDD Line 10 was wrong, which meant Form 2 Part A line 17 was wrong, which meant taxes owed calculation was wrong.
