TurboTax Failed Us This Year

WHAT IN THE WORLD? In a year when the vast majority of small businesses received PPP and EIDL loans and forgiveness, TurboTax gave us no guidance whatsoever on how to handle these things in our 2020 s-corp 1120-S taxes. If I had known this, I would not have purchased it this year. You have one job when you sell business tax preparation software - to tell us how to enter our information into the tax forms. You failed - big time. I believe this will be my last year of using TurboTax business after 15 years of using it for multiple businesses. Why pay for it if I have to figure out everything myself anyway?

Turbotax business needs a LOT of improvements comp

Turbotax business needs a LOT of improvements as compared to home and business and other products. everything is just so confusing for people using it the first time. No mention of needing a printer and a scanner until the last step. Kept asking for reason to review under California without any indication on what's wrong with the return. I hope I filed accurately but was really hard to trust the software.

Works fine but incompatible w/ Quickbooks Online

This is my first time filing business taxes with TurboTax. I've used TurboTax online for personal taxes for years and love it, especially because I can auto-import everything from brokerage account tax forms and my charitable giving from Its Deductible. I was very disappointed to find that I couldn't import my information into Turbotax Business from Quickbooks Online, which I set up to use for my business. I picked Quickbooks specifically to make taxes with TurboTax easy, assuming that the Intuit ecosystem would work together. I'll be getting rid of the Online version of Quickbooks and buying the old-school desktop version instead. Why Intuit can't make an online version of the Business tax software is a bit of a mystery, especially when the online version is a pretty steep $25.00 per month...

So confusing. Needs work.

The program would not update when corrections were made to previously visited screens such as business info. It kept telling me I need to file my S Corp election when I already enter the information saying it was already done. The review was confusing because there was no help screen. I had all of my information organized and ready to go and after 5 hours, I was still not done. Next year I'll probably go to professional for taxes.

TurboTax USED to be awesome

I've lost a lot of confidence in TurboTax these last few years as I've noticed several errors in the software and/or the printouts. I've been using TT for over a decade to prepare my personal as well as business taxes, and while the format it easy (question/answer), these last 2 years I've been left wondering if my filing was even correct. I will be looking for alternatives for next year.
