TurboTax is NOT awesome!
on March 6, 2021

I will continue to look for an alternative to your product. The errors I came across are just plain sloppy; programmers/QA should be ashamed. Adding attachments is not intuitive and buggy; got stuck in a loop where it attaches e-filing declaration successfully then bombs. Got past it by adding dupe copy and then your stupid program made me print and mail all three of my returns anyway instead of e-file because it wouldn't allow me to attach a signed safe-harbor statement. Other tax software can do this, why not TurboTax? Slackers.

No Quickbooks Online Support
on March 6, 2021

There still isn't a way to import Quickbooks Online data. There should be a way to do this. Also, it would be great to be able to file S-Corp taxes using turbo tax online. Installing software each year is annoying.

TurboTax Bus has issues-better than alternatives
on March 6, 2021

TT Business does not work as well as TurboTax Deluxe. Can't download 1099-Bs or other forms from brokers or banks. Would not allow direct deposit of Federal Refund. Does not show tax balance like regular TurboTax does. It does work better and is easier to use than Intuit Professional tax software (ProConnect) or H&R Block's software (I was a tax preparer for them). To confirm mailing and business addresses, it kept looping through the questions. Had to eventually "Back" out of the screens.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

Generally good, but buggy (bugs listed here)
on March 6, 2021
Posted by: user29454
It did the job after a lot of research and figuring out why things weren't working right. I've seen 1 bug in this 2020 version that I saw last year in the 2019 version. And then 2 additional bugs. Please fix these:
1) In Federal, under Deductions, the "Advertising and promotion" amount is also included (so double) in the total of "Common business expenses", but HIDDEN. Go ahead, add up the items in "Common business expenses", it doesn't match its own total. It also includes the "Advertising and promotion" amount. Note that I had imported from QuickBooks Pro 2016 to get the amounts.
2) In State (CA), it added Form 3554 (New Employment Credit). Why? I was never asked if I wanted this. Also, because it was added it had an error on it because question E wasn't answered. So, I had to manually delete this form.
3) In State (CA), on Form 100S p4-6, section 18 (Other State Taxes), line 18E was checked "Paid" when there was no value for it. Other than this checkbox, section 18 was empty (n/a). So, I had to uncheck this. This should be fixed to be handled automatically.
