Not a good choice

Every year Turbotax doesn't have my state filing forms until a week before they are due. And every year I discover a different MAJOR error that I have to find a way to correct without it triggering an audit. This year, the depreciation is NOT counted in the NJ state assets. I had to manually enter it as a contra account because otherwise I could not file. I should just pay an accountant and be done with it.

Not nearly as user friendly as normal turbotax

Business won't let you import from your brokerage. It also doesn't correlate related inputs like the regular version of turbotax. You have to pay a lot more attention to get this right with Business. The high cost of Business and the lack of help makes filling out the forms on your own much more attractive.

Complete process for Trust

As for individual returns, one can use step-through process or easily navigate to areas to work. Filing steps are clear and tutorial. Most steps and hints quite clear. Cost covers software developed for complex cases, so not the lowest cost tool, but perhaps the most complete and easy to use.

The system is easy to use and guides you. You do not need an accountant but if you have questions they have accounts standing by. Highly recommend.

Turbo Tax is ok

The program is fine as long as you know the tax codes and are familiar with what forms you need to file. Turbo Tax really needs to ramp up its efforts to make sure all forms, business and personal are ready in a timely manner and not delaying so that they are available a few days before the filing due date. Also to ensure that all forms can be efiled so that taxpayers can be in compliance with the efiling mandates and not be subject to fines by the government for not efiling.
