Overpriced and infuriating to use

Their "explanations" don't explain anything, and half the time you end up having to fix things it should have done for you manually on the form.

Turbo Tax is LAZY

This is my 24th year using Turbo Tax. Years ago the product would get better each year. Now, you keep seeing the same problems every year. At the end of the process you get all these dumb errors that you have to fix manually... come on... just use your product and see the issues people are having and fix them. Dumb stuff like the name of my company... you have known that for 24 years... or simple questions they didn't ask me at the beginning and now I have to manually deal with it. You always end up in some silly "loop" and can't get the return filed. I finally started overriding things and after the 12th "loop" I got filed. It seems to me that Turbo Tax has their product on "milk the cow" and are not investment in improvement. Next year, I think I will try a competitive product and see how it goes... I'm tired of feeling taken advantage of. I've now finished my LLC returns... now I need to finish my personal return separately... don't get me started on how dumb that is....

TurboTax is way too expensive for Trusts

TurboTax should include Estate and Trust returns in their home and business product. Tax Cut does this and I will be switching to them for all my future tax preparations.

misses two things

This works fairly well and i have never gotten in trouble with the IRS, but two things do not happen:
there is a form at the end that requires explanation . it does not come up in the questions, it does not come up when reviewed for completeness, but does come up just before filing. at this point there is no way to figure out what is needed. i just enter nonsense.
the program did not attach the detail 1099 from my brokerage. Sometimes I just skip e filing and mail my stuff. there is no help for adding an electronic attachment. Neither is there a notice that you will not be able to efile if you you the summary method to complete investment sales.

Needs a Mac Version

TurboTax Business is great for do it yourself business taxes. The interface is intuitive and the explanations along the way help in identifying what you need and don't need. The only real aggravation I have is I run Macs throughout my business and personal life. This software only being available on Windows when literally all other TurboTax products have a Mac version is annoying. I have one Windows laptop that I only use for taxes. Maybe I'll use someone else next year if this continues to be Windows only.
