If you are on the fence about it switching to electric... do it. After a few uses has already proven how much better it is than my old gas Stihl trimmer. Charged it out the box in under 30 minutes was able to do my entire 1/3 acre yard with plenty of charge to spare. So much quieter, so much so that i thought it wouldn't cut through the wisteria that grows on my fence. My old stihl would stall but this went right through it without any problems. This is a sleeping giant with plenty of electric torque to boot that will shred through things my gas trimmer couldn't. So blown away. I'm glad I went with this model at 80v. Wish this was around sooner but so glad I found it. Not to mention how light it is in comparison. This is a no brainer folks. Make the switch.

Excellent design and powerful trimmer, eco friendly and super easy to use. The battery only holds a charge for about 30 mins. You need multiple batteries.

I already owned a Greenworks blower and loved it, so, I when my old gas edger went out, I decided to get this string trimmer. I was assured that my supply of accessories for my old gas model would fit, and they have. The extra battery will come in handy as well. A big plus is how quiet this is. My ears love the sound of silence!I

Superior, workhorse of a product. Used it on an on-going community park fire abatement and beautification project. 6' weeds must be completely dry. Otherwise, they wrap around the head.

Heavy and big...difficult to use

I bought this unit after having a great experience with the Greenworks leaf blower (best yard tool ever). But this unit is very big, heavy, and difficult to use unless you're a pro football linebacker. Also, the strings are cut frequently and the unit does not automatically compensate. I do not recommend this unit.

Hello Cody Parker,
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. We're very sorry to hear that some aspects of this design did not meet all your needs as you expected. This is a bump n’ feed unit. The unit must be turned on and you will need to tap the bump knob on the ground to release additional line. Trimmer line of about 1/4" will feed out each time you bump the head. As long the mechanics for the line release are understood and exercised you should have no issues releasing line. We hope this information has been helpful. If you have any further questions or feedback, we would be glad to talk to you more about this. 1-888-909-6757 for our Greenworks customer care team.
