I have owned a 40 volt trimmer for some time now and there were many times when I was trimming I would come across heavier brush that the 40 volt could not handle or would take a few passes to cut down ! have a number of your 40 and 80 volt tools of which I am pleased with . I tested a couple of them and tried sending you feedback on how they were working ! I was really happy when I saw your 80 volt trimmer that said ATTACHMENT CAPABLE , thats what peaked my interest the most ! I have gas powered equipment with most of the attachments and was I even happier when I ordered your larger weed eater ,the first thing I did was get my gas attachments and checked to see if they really were compatible with yours ! Was I a Happy camper . I,d take it to my other property and decided to get a second one so I would have one at each location ! You have outdone yourselves ! THANK YOU , A VERY HAPPY GREENWORKS CUSTOMER "DEL"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] String trimmer that spins up to its potential. Even though it uses a smaller diameter string, it cuts as well as my previous gas powered trimmers. A bit heavy with the battery but well balanced where you forget the weight. No gas or oil or fumes. Have used with some older attachments which connect as before but do tend to drag down the 2 Ah battery quicker than I would like but gives you a reason to rest and reset with another charged battery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace another battery-powered brand that was no longer supported. I've used it quite a bit, and it has never failed me. The battery and charger are still working and I believe Greenworks will keep them in their inventory as they are real workhorse. The unit keeps a charge, and I can easily trim my 1/3 acre lot on one charge. I also have a Greenworks hedge trimmer and leaf blower. All batteries are interchangeable. I planned it that way.

Terrible design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine would be great with a better design. The issue it has is with the string element, it’s designed to stop whenever the string hit a solid surface so it constantly stops while weeding near pavement or a wall. Then you have to take of the feeder and reattach, this alone is enough to drive someone crazy as you have to keep the string wrapped around the wheel while at the same time feeding it into opposite holes in either side of the head. And if you don’t line it up just right it dosent work.

Hello Bad design. Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear issue you are experiencing. The unit is not designed to stop when it near a pavement or wall. We would like to make some suggestions to improve your experience with the tool. Trimmer line usually breaks because of line crowding. This occurs when the trimmer head is held too close to hard objects that can break the line such as brick, cement, rocks, or fencing. Keeping the line at full extension, and not crowding it, reduces line breakage problems. We suggest cutting with the bare tip of the line because this is the section which moves at the highest speed. Do not let it hit into grass. Ease the line into vegetation, bit by bit from the edge. Line can also get wrapped around thick vegetation and become tangled, breaking the line. Listen to the sound of the machine and when the line slows down; back off out of the grass. We hope these suggestions help. If you still have questions or an unresolved issue after going through this troubleshooting guide, or just want to speak to a Greenworks product expert, please start a Live Chat on Greenworks Tools website or contact us by phone at 1-888-909-6757. We are here to help.
