Bad designb

String advance an absolute joke. String is light so much advance required does not work. Hurts me to buy another brand and yet another battery and charger, just can not work with this thing any longer.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you're having an issue with the line feeding. Often when the trimmer line will not advance, it is due to one of the following possibilities.
1. The motor shaft or trimmer head is bound with grass -> Stop the trimmer, unplug the trimmer, and remove the grass.
2. Spool is dirty.
3. Line is tangled in the spool -> Unplug the trimmer, remove the line from the spool, and rewind.

The STF309 String Trimmer is a winner!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the fourth string trimmer I've owned, and the first from Greenworks. I've had both gas and electric trimmers, but the STF309 is the lightest weight, most powerful, easiest to control and—and the quietest—that I've ever used. Basically, it does an hour's work in 10 minutes, and it's a true pleasure to operate!
I would recommend this to a friend!
